The art of making ceramic vessels is organic---maybe even meditative. Hand-made cups, bowls and mugs invite us to slow down and enjoy the little things, noticing the way a full mug warms us to our toes on a cold fall night, or the way a bright bud vase makes us feel a little more animated, ourselves
Some time after studying with the celebrated artists Yih-Wen Kuo and Ron Mazanowski, I opened my own studio, working largely with local wild clays and glazes I made from scratch using "foraged" elements like ash, clay and calcined shells. My teachers and mentors helped me to understand that a hand made vessel is an invitation to pause.
These hand-crafted vessels make the perfect accent pieces, place settings, or gifts. And you can feel good knowing that a portion of every purchase goes to humanitarian causes. (See link after testimonials).

My Story.

Get to know me:

I began potting in 1996. After I earned my degree in Fine Arts, I traveled in Europe for close to a year before returning home to settle down and gradually open my own studio. Today I harvest clay from my property, or from near the Pecatonica River in Northern IL. I think the best things are often made from scratch so I blend my own glazes too from things like ash, earth and pigment, which lends a distinctive organic quality to my pots. All my tableware has been tested food safe and non-toxic, and it is microwave safe. I have used my own work for many years--I feel confident that you're going to love your new vessels, sculptures and commissioned pieces!
